EcoDigi
The COVID-19 pandemic has forced the need to digitalize the educational system. Formal and non-formal education is becoming more and more digital. In the adult education sector this has had the positive effect of promoting inclusion, as distance learning enables the participation of adults who would otherwise be excluded for various reasons. On the other hand, the digitalisation of the education system has not paid much attention to environmental goals and sustainability, or to inclusion and diversity; it takes place primarily though platforms with high carbon emissions and many platforms and digital tools are not adapted for learners with special needs. The project aims to support adult educators and educational institutions to adopt more eco-friendly practices and to adapt their learning offer for learners with special needs.
Goals

Increase the environmental awareness and resilience of adult educators in the partner countries and more widely by providing them with effective tools and materials to support sustainability in their practices;

Promote the inclusion and improve the learning outcomes of learners with disabilities and difficulties by enabling educators to provide tailored learning opportunities, adapted to their needs;
- Create a pool of skilled trainers and resources that can support the building of capacity of adult educators
- Raise awareness about the importance of environmental sustainability and social inclusion in adult education practices, and the ways everyone can contribute to these large goals through taking small steps;
- Facilitate links and exchange of good practices between the partner countries, participating organisations and stakeholders in relation to the themes addressed by the project.
Methods, Techniques, Tools
- Development of a Self-Assessment tool
A self – assessment tool will be developed and tested, with the aim of measuring the extent to which the practices of adult educators and institutions are green and accessible.
- Development of a report outlining good practices
A report will be produced setting out the results of the self-assessment and outlining emerging good practices and areas to be addressed
- Development of an online platform
A searchable online platform will be created as a resource for educators to improve their practices;
- Development of common guidelines
Common guidelines will be developed for educators on becoming green and accessible;
- Development of a pool of skilled trainers
A pool of skilled trainers (master trainers) will be created in each country, who can support adult educators and build their skills
- Development of webinars
6 training webinars will be held for min. 60 adult educators and other interested stakeholders (min. 120 total), in accordance with the created methodology, on how to use the created resources and become more eco-friendly and inclusive in their practices;

Overview
The overall objective of this project is to enable the digital transformation of the adult education sector to be environmentally sustainable and inclusive, by supporting adult educators and institutions to assess, build and change their practices, where necessary.
